Brad Dunn & Ellis County

Brad received his first guitar at 12 years old from his dad, and remembers jumping around and being a “rock star”.  At 13 he had already started writing, and had dreams of being a real “ROCK STAR”.  He had some regional success with a rock band “Tin Henry”, and opened up for some pretty big names such as Sugar Ray, and Korn. 

He has been in all aspects of the business from, Tour Manager for Sugar Ray, to Production Manager for Beaver Promotions, as well as the on stage artist. He was out of the writing/playing end of it for awhile, until he saw Alanis Morisette with Jeff Buckley.

Brad went back to his country roots when he started writing again, but with the influences that he worked in for years.  Musical influences range from Motley Crue, Guns ‘n Roses, to Stevie Ray and Pat Green. He also said that inspirations for the writing is everything from family and friends, to places that he’s been, cold beer, and Texas.  Brad describes the sound as a country band, with a Rock platform, and I would definitely agree.

They try not to limit their music by trying to stay in a particular genre, and have a variety of sounds on the newly released album “Ranch Cat”.  It has had some local success and is doing well overseas.

July 22, the guys will be playing with Cory Morrow, and in September they will be at the East Texas State Fair. Go check out a show, and request the new single “Red, White, and Blue”.
